Got to meet Shawn and use the GLASR-8 during a 5 day Canyoning class with Wildsky Adventure Guides. GLASR-8 is perfectly sized to do block and suspended rigging setups. It really shines in the “rapid 8” mode. Rapid 8 is much easier and quicker to rig and visually check setup than the eight mule overhand setup required with traditional 8’s. Bought two on the spot for myself and my partner. Awesome gear!
My main use for this device is to creep the rope or lower to set the rope length. My favorite feature is that due to the elongated neck with the integrated stitch plate, it allows for a handled "throttle" movement to slow or speed the lowering/creep.
Great block device that makes adjustments to rope length quick and easy! Must have for canyoneer!
